Thursday Week 4 in Ordinary Time - Year A

Image
Today’s theme is journey, David ending his life journey and Apostles beginning their evangelical journey. God accompanied David. David’s advice was to live like a hero following God’s commandments. Jesus called the 12 and sent them in pairs with a mission. Advised to be minimalistic without holding on to things or people of this world, live temporarily. Those who are unable to understand your mission will definitely reject you, dust off even their dust from your shoe as a sign of irrelevancy and you move on to the next level God is pushing you victoriously. Only when you forget you’re in a journey towards eternal home, you become enslaved in worldly possessions. This detachment makes you POWERFUL in your CONNECTION.

Independence Day of Sri Lanka-Wednesday 4th Week in OT - Year A

On this 78 th Independence Day, are we truly free? Financially, we’re enslaved to other nations. Only Jesus grants true freedom, through total dependence on Him. Free will leads to slavery; surrendering to God’s WILL brings liberation. Just as Mother and St. Joseph protected Jesus from Herod’s evil, Our Lady of Lanka protected us during WW2. Keep a divine secret with the Lord, hidden from the devil, like Herod never found the Child. Evil one tempts us toward addictions and immorality, but our Mother intercedes, as Our Lady of Lourdes, Fatima, Guadalupe, or Sri Lanka. Let us ask her to make Sri Lanka a cenacle of unity, and seek divine independence by fully depending on her Son. Happy Independence Day & God Bless you all!!

Tuesday, Week 4 in Ordinary Time - Year A

Image
Today’s theme is father-child relationship. David wept over his rebellious son Absalom’s death, while God the Father gave His only Son to save us. Jairus begged Jesus to heal his dying daughter. Woman suffering from hemorrhage for years—after every medical treatment failed—in bold faith, secretly touched Jesus’ cloak and was instantly healed. When she confessed, Jesus called her “daughter,” forging a personal CONNECTION beyond the miracle. Crowds pressed around Jesus, merely attending church in masses means nothing without personally encountering Jesus. At Jairus’ house, mockers blocked miracles through unbelief; Jesus took the girl’s hand, saying “Talitha kum,” and raised her. When medicine fails and you’re at your lowest, reach for Jesus—He will reach back, and CONNECT with you forever. Woman touched Jesus, Jesus touched the dead girl, thus in your weakness, touch Him; when you can’t move anymore, He will come and touch you with life. God Bless you all!

1 Minute Gospel Reflection for Monday, 4th Week in Ordinary Time

Israelites’ tradition was offering a lamb or two turtle doves to reclaim the first born, as first born belonged to God. Today Mother & Father Joseph did the same, taking Jesus to the Temple. Prophet Malachi said Jesus will be like refiner’s fire or fullers’ alkali, purify you, like a double edged sword. That’s why Simeon told the Mother that her soul will be pierced - so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare, when you surrender all to God & own Jesus you too become as powerful as Mother & shall experience same. Jesus was their all, yet they offered Him unto God circumcising which represented His blood shed on the Cross 33 years later. Jesus became that lamb. When you surrender your first and best to God everything will fall into right place. Prophet Simeon and Prophetess Anna gave their all, their lives to God and so they were prompted by Holy Spirit to come to the Temple and were able to meet Jesus. That’s when I ask Prophet Simeon when the baby cried did you...
